Highlife artist Kuami Eugene was involved in a serious car accident on Sunday, March 17th around 11:30pm on the dark N1 Highway near the DSTV office between Achimota Overpass and Dzowulu traffic light. The musician, driving a Range Rover with license plate GC-220-21, crashed into the back of a slowly moving tipper truck.
Witness Emmanuel Ajarfor Abugri, editor at Modern Ghana news, was driving behind Kuami Eugene when the accident occurred. He believes poor lighting on the highway and the lack of tail lights on the truck reduced visibility and contributed to the crash.
Kuami Eugene suffered injuries including a visibly broken arm, cut hand, leg wound, hurt hip, and cut lip. His male passenger complained of neck and back pain but had no visible injuries. Nurses at UGMC Hospital treated both men.
Despite the serious damage to the Range Rover and deployed airbags, Abugri stated "Kuami Eugene is fine. He could have died." The artist survived a near fatal car crash.
