On Wednesday afternoon, it was reported that the Red Devils were concerned about their preferred left-back missing out on playing for the rest of this season. This is due to a recurring leg injury sustained during Sunday's 2-1 victory over Luton. The development has caused concern for England manager Gareth Southgate as he prepares his squad ahead of the European Championship finals in Germany later this year.

After being removed during the later victory at Aston Villa for protective reasons, Shaw was assessed as healthy enough to begin playing once more at Kenilworth Road. However, he was subbed out just prior to halftime yet again.

Luke Shaw is expected to be out due to injury for a few months.

Following the victory against Luton, Erik ten Hag, the manager of United acknowledged that there was a cause for concern regarding Luke Shaw's injury. He noted that it wasn't just a minor setback but couldn't confirm how severe or lengthy his absence would be until further evaluations were made during the week.

Recently released reports from Old Trafford revealed apprehensions over Shaw missing out on playing time for the rest of 2023/24 season. In response to this speculation, Manchester United's official website has issued an update stating that their fears have been confirmed as he suffered muscle damage and will not participate in matches for several months ahead - "Luke Shaw has sustained a muscle injury and will be out for an extended period," according to their statement.

Shaw's season has been marked by injuries, with only 15 appearances in all competitions. Although we anticipate his absence for a few months, additional evaluation is necessary to gauge the extent of the damage.

Due to a muscle injury, he was absent from play for over three months between August and November. However, he made an early comeback in the 3-0 victory against Everton at Goodison Park.
