Man City secured a 1-1 draw against Chelsea

Man City secured a 1-1 draw against Chelsea, with Raheem Sterling's late goal cancelling out his strike. The match saw Manchester City fall four points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool. Raheem Sterling's breakaway goal gave Mauricio Pochettino's men a deserved lead at the interval, but Chelsea had chances to extend their advantage. Erling Haaland spurned a series of opportunities to equalise as City pushed. However, Pep Guardiola's team found one of the goals they needed with Rodri's left-footed effort deflecting off Trevor Chalobah and into the net.

City may rue the dropped points more, as they are now third, four points behind Liverpool. Chelsea had better openings in the first half, looking a threat on the counter-attack. However, Nicolas Jackson's poor touch allowed Ederson to smother the ball. Sterling's goal, however, was a deserved lead at the break.

Chelsea retained their counter-attacking threat, with Cole Palmer feeding Malo Gusto, who almost swept in by Sterling, only for Ederson to produce a magnificent save with his feet. After Haaland headed wide again, Rodri intervened, his shot bound for the back of the net before the deflection.

With Liverpool and Arsenal in good form, City may regret not taking two more points in this match.
